Martha and Steve Kanelakos attended their final service at Grace Presbyterian Church April 1, 2007. They are relocating to Raleigh, North Carolina to be closer to their children.

Martha has been one of the most active members of our church since its inception, and she and Steve leave behind many treasured memories. Among them is the Contemporary Service communion set that she had custom sculptured in North Carolina two years ago (below).  Gifts like this can only be measured in degrees of love and commitment - and Martha has an abundance of both!

The simple plaque below was my way of saying so long to two of the dearest people I have ever known.  Fortunately for us, my daughter and her family live near to Martha and Steve's new location in Raleigh and we will have the chance to visit from time to time.

Their last service ended with an invitation for the congregation to come up and bid farewell as they sang "The Ties That Bind".  Of course, EVERYONE came to express their best wishes.

Lastly, Averill Walters presented them with the first "Memory Book" of prayers (for each day of the year) that we will now be giving  to all departing members.
