This is an unusual ministry in that it comes from outside our church and it is conducted by a friend of our Ministers in Florida.  The story behind it follows:

When Mark asked me to get in touch with his friend Dr. Paul Tambrino in Florida about adding his "Ask Augustine" article to out web site, I sent Paul a short e-mail asking for a little background on the purpose and audience of his article.  Here is his response:

"In answer to your questions, Augustine is my favorite theologian of the first 1,000 years with John Calvin being my favorite of the second 1,000 years.  Today being Reformation Day we are reminded that the Reformation brought the church back to the teachings of Augustine as well as to those of Paul and to Jesus.  Also, since I designed it as a Q & A like a "dear Abby" but on religious issues, instead of calling it "Dear Augustine," I called it "Ask Augustine."  I started the column in January 2001.

 

The major paper that it appears in is the Marshalltown Times Republican who in turn syndicate to at least seven other papers.  It also goes to Liberty University, Erskine Seminary, Trinity Seminary, Knox Seminary and Maundelien Seminary (a Roman Catholic seminary), plus an e-flock mailing of well over 6,000 - if you include subsidiary mailings.
